Hello everyone from Panama!

It’s been a while since I’ve updated you on the race. Last month we were in Jaco, Costa Rica where we partnered with an amazing ministry, called Oceans Edge. In a few short words it was a challenging, stretching, eye-opening, and beautiful month. We also had a squad debrief in San Jose, Costa Rica. We rested, refueled our spirit, and readjusted things that needed some work. We had some challenging conversations and teachings but we’re all coming out on the other end more in love with the Lord and ready to bring some Kingdom! After a rather short 15 hour travel day, we arrived in Boquete, Panama. Where my team and I are staying in a little home learning what ATL looks like.

What is ATL?! ATL is simply an abbreviation for Ask the Lord. That means we take our ministry, housing, transportation, and our life to the Lord and ask what our month looks like. While we are partnered with AIM and the World Race, they’ve entrusted us to take it to the Lord. While it seems kind of scary to not know everything, we’re holding onto the fact that He knows.

This isn’t a for sure, so take it with a grain of salt please! We’ve taken it to the Lord individually and as a group pieced the pieces together to come to the conclusion that we will spend some, if not all of the month, trekking through the mountains of Panama to both mountainous villages and national parks to meet tourists and natives who may be searching for some adventure and meaning in life.

We’ve also come to the conclusion that every day will look different and that’s okay! But we’re excited to what the Lord will teach us when we rely fully on Him with our lodging, finances, food, and anything extra that we may need (like coats (or at least warm clothes) if we indeed trek the tallest mountain in Panama). Please join us in praying for the things that we will need for basic needs this month.

This month is all about surrender too. We’ve been challenged to take it to the Lord about what He is asking us to surrender for the month that we are in Panama. So, without further ado, I will be surrendering my phone and kindle in my big pack with another team in Panama as we take off trekking. (Unless the Lord calls us to something different) this means we will also only have our small bags (with tents, clothes, and sleeping gear).

I’m so excited to see what comes of this month! Of surrendering and relying on God. It’s going to be challenging, but it will be full of growth! If you’d like to know more about my month you can follow my teammates, they have different and beautiful perspectives about what this month looks like already! Also, I only have 842$ left to fundraise for the race, and I am fully handing it over to the Lord this month. If you feel led to donate I would be so appreciative, love you all so much!
