An update on this incredible opportunity I have awaiting me! I recently graduated in May 2018 from Spring Arbor University with a degree in Early Childhood Education, and will complete my student teaching at Island City Academy and Eaton Rapids Public School before the calendar changes to 2019. It has been a busy four years full of learning how to become a knowledgeable and caring teacher who is quick to listen and always encouraging, as well as a compassionate woman who is chasing after the heart of God. Over the last four years I have been equipped for my next steps in all aspects of life: relationally, emotionally, spiritually, and physically. There is nothing more exhilarating then having such amazing opportunities just beyond the horizon in 2019!

Back in August 2017, I applied for the World Race, and was quickly accepted. Since then, I have wrestled with God about the idea of going and taking a year off of my life here in the States with my friends and family, and the possibility of getting a teaching job. I fully believe that this is the right path for me to be running towards at the age of 22. Over the last year having the idea of the World Race up in the air, you may have seen my posts on social media, or heard me or my family talk about this opportunity, but you still may not know what the World Race is.

The World Race is an 11-month Christian mission trip to 11 countries around the world. I will be serving in Guatemala, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Morocco, Ethiopia, Djibouti, India, Nepal, Myanmar, Indonesia, and Thailand. One of the unique things about the World Race is that it’s not only a mission trip but also a discipleship program designed to launch my generation into our specific kingdom calling of Matthew 28:19-20. Through the World Race, my team and I will serve in partnership with established churches and ministries in local communities to preach the Gospel, plant churches, teach English, work in orphanages, minister to women and children trapped in prostitution as a result of human trafficking, and bring the restorative hope of the Father’s love to many tribes and nations.

I will face many challenges throughout the World Race, but as I prepare for my departure, one of my greatest challenges is financial support. Like most other mission’s organizations, World Race participants are required to fundraise financial support. In order to leave fully funded in June 2019, I need to raise $18,500, which is roughly living on $50/day. This money will cover all of my field expenses and travel for the 11 months of the trip. This number is daunting, but I know the Lord provides in many different ways. Would you join me and praying over this number and the date June 5, 2019? I have many ideas on how to raise such funds, I will be selling bracelets through ThreadsofHope.com until Christmastime. I will also be having local fundraisers and events. As I take this large step of faith in trusting the Lord, would you prayerfully consider joining me both in prayers, but also in financial support? This can be through a one-time donation, attending an event, buying a bracelet, or partnering with me monthly to make donations throughout the next year. I ask you to truly pray over this request. I do not ask this lightly, the Lord will do amazing things through the World Race through me and for me over the next two years as I continue to prepare and launch into this amazing journey that lies ahead and I pray that this great work begins with your partnership.

I would love to reach out to you and answer any questions that you may have. I would also love to meet up with you if you are local to share a bit of my story with you and why this opportunity is so special to my heart.
